An acetylated form of tyrosine marketed for better water solubility than plain L-tyrosine, which makes it convenient in ready-to-drink and powder formulas. Human data show that a large share of an oral or intravenous NALT dose is excreted unchanged rather than converted to free tyrosine, so it is a less reliable way to raise plasma tyrosine than the same weight of L-tyrosine. It remains common in pre-workouts and focus blends at sub-gram doses.

There is no human study establishing an effective oral NALT dose for cognition; the evidence for tyrosine's stress benefits comes from plain L-tyrosine at much higher doses. Consider L-tyrosine where dose efficiency matters and reserve NALT for solubility-limited liquids.
