Methylliberine (Dynamine)

Sports performancestimulantBranded: Dynamine (Compound Solutions)Moderate dose evidence

Also known as: Dynamine, methylliberine, 2-methoxy-1,7,9-tetramethyluric acid, kucha methylliberine

Add to a formula

Methylliberine is a purine alkaloid found in kucha tea leaves and coffee, structurally close to theacrine but with a faster onset and shorter duration. Branded as Dynamine, it is marketed for quick energy, mood, and focus in pre-workouts and gaming supplements, typically stacked with caffeine and theacrine. A 4-week RCT at 100 and 150 mg per day, alone and with theacrine, found no clinically meaningful changes in cardiovascular or blood safety markers; a later trial reported improved affect but not cognition.

Research summary

Adenosine receptor antagonist and dopaminergic purine alkaloid with rapid absorption and a shorter half-life than theacrine.

Dosage

Daily amounts, of compound.

Lowest studiedTypical rangeHighest studiedUpper limit
100 mg100–150 mg150 mg

100–150 mg per day, typically with 25–50 mg theacrine and caffeine. Onset is fast (within 30 minutes) and duration shorter than theacrine, which is why it is paired. Four-week safety data exist at these doses; longer-term data are limited.

Standardization: ≥40% methylliberine (Dynamine 40%) or ≥99% pure grade

Source material: synthetic, nature-identical (branded Dynamine)

As supplied: Dynamine is commonly supplied as a 40% grade; 100 mg methylliberine requires 250 mg of 40% material. A 100% grade also exists.
