Add to a formula

Nitrosigine is a patented complex of L-arginine bound with silicate and stabilized by inositol, developed by Nutrition21. The complex raises plasma arginine more durably than plain arginine and is marketed for blood flow, pumps, and cognitive performance. A randomized crossover trial found 1.5 g increased flow-mediated dilation by about 31% within an hour, comparable to 8 g of citrulline malate, and acute cognitive studies report improved memory scores. It is used in pre-workouts and nootropic formulas.

Research summary

Supplies arginine for endothelial nitric oxide synthesis with silicate and inositol improving stability and duration of plasma arginine elevation.

Dosage

Daily amounts, of compound.

Lowest studiedTypical rangeHighest studiedUpper limit
1,500 mg1,500 mg1,500 mg

1,500 mg once daily, taken 30–60 minutes before exercise or a cognitive task; this is the dose used across the branded trials. It is a fixed-dose ingredient, so partial doses are not supported by data.

Standardization: inositol-stabilized arginine silicate complex (Nitrosigine)

Source material: synthetic complex of L-arginine, silicon, and inositol
