Panax Ginseng Extract

BotanicaladaptogenModerate dose evidence

Also known as: Korean ginseng, Asian ginseng, red ginseng, Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, G115

Add to a formula

The root of Asian ginseng, standardized to ginsenosides, used in energy, fatigue, and vitality products. A meta-analysis of randomized trials suggests modest benefits on fatigue, while effects on physical performance are less consistent. Red ginseng is the steamed and dried form and carries a different ginsenoside profile than white ginseng. It is one of the oldest commercial adaptogens and pairs easily with other botanicals in daytime formulas.

Research summary

Ginsenosides are thought to act on the HPA axis, nitric oxide signaling, and cellular energy metabolism, contributing to reduced fatigue perception.
