Bacillus subtilis DE111

DE111 is a trademarked strain of Bacillus subtilis, a spore-forming soil and gut organism, supplied by Deerland (now part of ADM). Its randomized trials in healthy adults cover gastrointestinal and immune markers, blood lipids and endothelial function, and germination in the small intestine, at 1 to 5 billion CFU per day. Like other Bacillus spores it withstands heat, pressure, and low pH, so it is used in gummies, protein powders, and functional foods where vegetative probiotics would not survive. It is sold as a spore and germinates after ingestion.
